Map Interaction

  • Drag the map to move in any direction
  • Zoom in or our using two fingers (pinch zoom)
  • Touch + or - button to zoom in or out

Map View

  • Both portrait and landscape layout is supported
  • A scale bar indicated the current scale in meters
  • Click on "My Location" to show current position on the map

Find

  • Search for an address by putting in the street name, and then city name
  • Search for a point of interest by typing the name, and then optionally city name
  • Click on "My Location" to search for point of interests at your current GPS location

Routing

  • Type in your departure and destination point
  • Enter an address or point of interests by typing the name, and then optionally city name
  • Click on the button next to the text field to pick one of your personal pins, use your current GPS location, or open an extended input form
  • Select car or pedestrian routing clicking on the vehicle button
  • Choose either fastest or shortest route by clicking on the route options button
  • Press on Go! button to start route calculation

Turn-by-Turn Directions

  • After you've calculated your route a list button will appear on the right side of the map view
  • You can scroll through the route description an click on a waypoint to see it on the map
  • Use the up and down buttons to iterate through the route list

Guidance

  • After you've calculated a route you can either start the guidance or just simulate the navigation
  • There's an convenience function to reverse the route which swaps departure and destination points
  • During guidance mode you can click on most of the dashboard icons to switch the instrument display
  • Switch from 3D to 2D map view by pressing the 2D respectively 3D button
  • Click on the graphical guidance symbol to disable or enable the "next after" next maneuver symbol
  • While in guidance mode you can zoom in and out, but the auto zoom feature will slowly re-adjust to the best zoom level

Pins

  • Pins are personal markers you can put on a map to remember a location
  • You can add, edit or delete pins and use them in other functions as well
  • Click on "My Pins" to list all your personal pins, edit a pin, delete a pin, or just show it on the map. You can pick a pin to be guided to, or search for point of interests close to one of your pins.

Settings

  • Map Style: select from different map styles ("themes") like "roadmap", "night map" or "hiking map"
  • Compass: enable or disable automatic map orientation towards north
  • System of measurement: switch between imperial or metric units, like meters or miles
  • Navigation Voice: enable or disable voice prompts while in guidance mode
  • Guidance Verbosity: Choose how chatty (number of voice prompts) the guidance prompts you

Cruise Mode

  • In cruise mode the map continuously shows your current GPS location

Map Manager

  • Browse through continents, regions and countries and mark the maps you're interested in
  • Press "Update Maps" to download or update your map selection
  • Instead of downloading maps directly from your device you can choose to save the corresponding links in a file stored on your SD card.
  • Long click on a folder to download all maps contained in a directory
